About the product

3M Perfect-It Fast Cut Compound is a coarse abrasive compound for refinishing paintwork. It removes sanding scratches after flatting or denibbing with 3M 260L P1200/P1500 or Microfine 1500/2000 wet paper, and helps remove light to medium oxidation, car-wash scratches and overspray from original paint.

Application

Use the compound for the cutting stage on refinish paintwork and suitable original automotive paint. Work on a clean section of approximately 60 × 60 cm and keep unpainted plastic away from the product; if contact occurs, clean it immediately with soap and water.

Instructions for use

1. Shake well before use.
2. Use an electric or pneumatic polisher at 1500–2500 rpm with 3M Perfect-It Compounding Sponge Pad 09550 or Wool Pad 01927 and the recommended backup pad 09552/3.
3. Spread the compound over an area of approximately 60 × 60 cm, then polish with light to medium pressure.
4. Reduce pressure as the compound begins to dry. Wipe the area, inspect the result and repeat if necessary.
5. For the next polishing step, use 3M Machine Polish 09548 with pad 09551. Clean adjacent surfaces after work.

Storage and safety
