Backing plate for hook-and-loop polishing pads

Tonyin TP42D and TP42E are size options in one backing-plate family: 125 mm (5 in) and 150 mm (6 in). The plate connects a compatible foam or wool polishing pad to a polisher with a matching M14 spindle. Tonyin describes a premium hook-and-loop fastening intended to help keep the pad from shifting or spinning and to make pad removal easier.

How to use

1. Choose the diameter that matches your polishing pad and the panel or area you will work on.
2. Switch off and disconnect the polisher. Fit the plate to a compatible M14 spindle and secure it according to the polisher manufacturer's instructions.
3. Center a same-diameter, hook-and-loop-backed foam or wool pad on the plate and press it into place. Before starting, check that it is attached evenly and securely.
4. Polish with the tool and pad within their stated operating limits, keeping the pad controlled against the surface. Stop the machine and wait for it to come to rest before removing the pad; peel it away carefully.
