Carbon Collective Platinum Glass Ceramic Coating — 30 ml

Platinum Glass forms a functional SiO2 ceramic layer on glass, using strong chemical bonding to create a super-hydrophobic surface. Water sheets away from windscreens at speeds as low as 30 mph, helping reduce wiper use and improve visibility in wet conditions. The coating also makes glass easier to maintain.

Suitable surfaces and durability

Use on windscreens, exterior glass, polycarbonate and motorcycle visors. The manufacturer states a minimum of 6 months on front and rear screens and 12–24 months on side windows; the official application instructions describe approximately 6–8 months depending on wiper use. Two coats provide full coverage and improve durability.

Kit contents and application

The kit contains one 30 ml bottle, two 75 mm microfibre applicators and foil packaging with instructions.

1. Work above 5 °C in a well-ventilated area, wear protective gloves and do not dilute the product.
2. Ensure the glass is dry and free from waxes, oils and silicones. Thoroughly clay the glass and wipe it with a 50% mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water.
3. Apply 3–4 drops to the supplied lint-free applicator and spread evenly from top to bottom in sections.
4. Bonding starts immediately. Remove excess after a few minutes with a light wipe of a clean microfibre cloth; use one applicator per window where possible.
5. For best durability, apply a second coat after 1 hour.
6. Allow the coating to fully cure for 12 hours and avoid using the wipers until hardened. Clean the wiper blades with an IPA mix for optimum performance.

Maintenance and safety

After sealing, maintain the glass with pH-neutral car shampoo, snow foam and suitable citrus degreasers. Limit unnecessary wiper use and avoid high-pH cleaners and traffic-film removers. Remove accidental contact with rubbers, trim or paintwork immediately.
