About the product

Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 1000 (HCC 1000 IF) is a highly effective abrasive compound for automotive clear coats. It removes overspray, heavy wear, deep scratches and sanding marks, while the improved formulation works for a long time and produces little dust. It is optimised for foam polishing pads and is intended for professional paint correction.

Application

Use it as the heavy-cut stage after sanding, typically for P1500 work with a pad and for deep paint defects. It is suitable for automotive clear coats and can be followed by a medium-cut and a finish polish when a higher gloss is required. Do not expect polishing to remove a scratch that has penetrated deeper than the clear coat.

Instructions for use

1. Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly.
2. Shake the bottle and apply 3–7 pea-sized drops to the pad, depending on pad diameter (95–180 mm), or use the amount needed to prime a clean pad.
3. Use a rotary or orbital machine with a Heavy Cut Foam Pad. Work in a cross-coating pattern at a consistently low speed; start with firm, even pressure and reduce pressure slightly in the final passes.
4. Work the compound until only a slightly transparent or oily film remains, then remove residue with a clean microfiber cloth.
5. Inspect the panel. If necessary, continue with a medium-cut or finish polish to refine the gloss and remove remaining polishing marks.
