About the product

COLOURLOCK GLD SOLVENT is a strong solvent for attempting the removal of dye transfer and stubborn discoloration from pigmented smooth leather and vinyl when gentler cleaners have failed. It can also be used for surface preparation before recolouring by slightly dissolving the upper coating layer.

Application

Use only on suitable pigmented smooth leather and vinyl. The product may also be used to prepare suitable plastic and leather surfaces before a colouring or repair process. It is intended for experienced users because it can dissolve the top coat and, in some cases, part of the colour layer.

Instructions

1. Always test first on a hidden area. On sensitive surfaces, stop immediately if the colour transfers to the cloth or the surface becomes tacky.
2. If possible, try a milder leather or artificial-leather cleaner first.
3. Apply a small amount of GLD SOLVENT to a clean microfibre cloth, not directly to the surface.
4. Work the discoloured area with light pressure in several short intervals. Do not scrub aggressively.
5. Stop as soon as the transfer mark is sufficiently reduced. If colour has been removed, restore the area with a suitable leather colour product.
6. After the surface is clean and dry, use the appropriate protective or finishing product for the material.
