Tonyin TB04C Coarse Clay Bar Set — 3 × 50 g

A set of three coarse-grade detailing clay bars, each weighing 50 g. The bars are designed to remove bonded dirt and overspray during vehicle-surface preparation. Tonyin lists painted surfaces, glass, clear plastics and polished metal as suitable applications. Each bar can be kneaded to expose a clean working face and reused while it remains clean and pliable.

What it is for

• Helps lift contamination that remains after a thorough wash.

• Three separate 50 g bars allow a clean piece to be kept in reserve.

How to use

1. Wash and rinse the vehicle thoroughly first. Work on a cool surface in the shade, one small section at a time.
2. Take one bar, knead it and flatten it into a comfortable working pad. Keep the remaining bars sealed and clean.
3. Apply plenty of dedicated clay lubricant to both the surface and the clay. Never use the bar dry.
4. Glide the clay gently back and forth with light pressure. Add lubricant whenever the surface stops feeling wet; continue until the area feels smooth.
5. Wipe lubricant residue with a clean microfibre towel. Fold and knead the clay to expose a clean face as dirt accumulates.
6. After treatment, inspect the finish and proceed with polishing or protection if required.

Care and precautions

Do not use on a hot surface or allow the work area to dry during treatment. If a bar is dropped, discard it rather than risk dragging grit over the finish. Test an inconspicuous area first, especially on delicate, repainted or coated surfaces, and follow the vehicle and product-care instructions. Store unused bars clean and sealed. Tonyin lists a three-year shelf life.
