About the product

Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 Improved Formulation (HCC 400 IF) is a premium abrasive compound for automotive clear coats. Its diminishing abrasives remove sanding marks and scratches quickly while developing high gloss, so it can often correct and refine the surface in one polishing process. It is designed for professional detailing and paint shops.

Application

Use it for heavy-cut correction of sanding marks and paint defects, or as a one-step compound when the finish requirements allow it. The TDS specifies up to P1500 abrasion with a lambswool pad and P2000 with a suitable pad. Choose a softer pad or a finish polish for the final refinement of sensitive or dark paint.

Instructions for use

1. Clean the surface thoroughly before polishing.
2. Shake the bottle and apply 3–7 pea-sized drops to the pad for a 40 × 40 cm area, depending on pad diameter (95–180 mm).
3. For heavy defects use a Heavy Cut Foam Pad or lambswool pad. With a rotary machine use the Standard Lambswool Pad; with an orbital machine use the Orbital Wool Pad.
4. Spread with a rotary or orbital machine in a cross-coating pattern. Start at low speed with firm pressure, then reduce pressure and increase speed during the last cycles.
5. Work the polish until only a slightly transparent or oily film is visible. Remove residue without pressure using a Premium Microfiber Cloth, then inspect the finish. A second pass or a finish polish can be used when required.
