CARPRO Clay X3 — decontamination clay, 3 × 100 g

This kit is for removing bonded contamination and restoring a smooth surface before the next detailing step. CARPRO offers a gentler Mild grade and a more aggressive grade marked Hard on the product packaging. Each kit contains three 100 g bars, individually packed in separate cases. CARPRO also describes the clay as more resistant to soap and high-pH solutions and less prone to breaking down.

How to use

1. Wash the vehicle first and work on one panel at a time in small sections.
2. Mould a bar into a convenient working shape. Spray CARPRO Claylube onto the panel to keep the surface lubricated.
3. Glide the clay gently over the surface with overlapping strokes. Do not press down.
4. Fold the clay frequently so a clean face contacts the paint. If dirt becomes embedded in the clay, it can mark the surface; stop and replace the contaminated piece rather than continuing.
5. Keep the area well lubricated until the clay moves smoothly, then rinse the panel thoroughly.
6. After use, wrap the clay in its original plastic film to help prevent sticking and preserve it for storage.

Keep to the product and lubricant labels. Choose the grade for the contamination and the level of mechanical action required; the Hard/Aggressive option is not a heavier-weight kit.
